Called out to inspect leaking water heater in the basement. Upon arrival found that the water heater was leaking from the tank itself. Advise the homeowner that there are no repairs for this issue and that that we would need to replace it. Gave the homeowner multiple options for different warranty tank water heaters bundled with replacing the main shut off valve, and PRV has a proactive measure. Homeowner agreed to go with a 6year water heater only today. Began by shutting off water to the home and draining the system. Once the system restrain, cut out old water heater and replace with a new 6year rheem tank water heater up to all current code requirements. Once work was complete reintroduce water to the system and tested for leaks and functionality. No leaks and everything is functioning properly.
