Customer stated that around late night and early morning she hears a crackling sound coming from water heater and has noticed this for about 2 weeks. Check water pressure inside home and is currently at 100 psi which is excessively high but is caused by a worn out pressure reducing valve. A worn out pressure valve is also the cause of the noise coming from the water heater as the burner kicks on hitting the water up and while inspecting noticed that the high-pressure has also damaged the expansion tank bladder. Need to replace pressure reducing valve and expansion tank to correct the pressure issue and stop the noise. Customer ordered replacement shower valve handle from Moen for the upstairs hall bath, but I found that the handle broke off and snapped the end of the cartridge stem. Replaced Moen posi-temp cartridge and installed. Customer supplied Moen replacement handle.
