Upon arrival, customer notified me that they would like to have back up power for the home. Customer stated that he was interested in the ATS, but he didn’t know if it would make sense financially based off the amount of times they lose power in a year. Customer requested that I give him an option for a interlock kit with an inlet box. After having conversation with my manager, we’ve came up with a solution where we can install a separate disconnect next to the meter main combo and extend service wires into this disconnect. We can re-feed our feeder wires back into the main disconnect, allowing the home to be powered properly during an outage and also while using utility services. We cannot lock out the main means of disconnect per conversation with my manager. We will also be giving the customer an option to have whole home surge protection installed. Customer does not have any form of whole home surge protection at the home.
