Arrived at the customer’s home to find the cause of no heating on the basement system. Found that the high voltage wire inside the air handler was burnt up. Replaced the wire nut connections with high voltage polaris lug connections and tested operation. Also signed the customer up for the Homecare maintenance plan. Tested heating, auxillary heating and zoning from the thermostats. Measured the electrical component readings. Checked the gas pressures on the gas furnaces. Inspected the safety and cleanliness of the systems. Checked the air filters and replaced the 1” filter for the main floor. Found a crack at the heat exchanger of the main floor system. Performed a carbon monoxide test and didn’t detect any carbon monoxide at this time. TE Certified still does not recommend running the furnace due to the safety risks that it presents.
