Called out to address a sump pump alarm beeping every 2 to 3 minutes. Upon arrival homeowner showed me to the crawlspace where the sump pump is located. After inspecting the sump pump box, found that the fuse on the charging system was blown. Advise the homeowner that I could replace the fuse and see if it allows for the battery to charge. Homeowner agreed and fuse was replaced. Back up battery box states that it could take up to two days to charge the battery. Advised homeowner that we will wait till Monday to see if by replacing the fuse it allowed for the battery to charge. If the issue continues, then we will need to move forward with replacing the back up battery. Sent the homeowner estimates for battery replacement and also for replacement of the sump pump in case it needs to be replaced due to the back up battery failing.
