Upon arrival customer stated that upstairs outdoor system was making noises and showed me a video of what system was doing. After inspection of upstairs system found unit had a failed condenser fan motor, along with failed fan motor the compressor is make a loud clunking noise, only heat strips are working to keep upstairs warm. Ad used customer due to system being obsolete, and age of equipment recommended updating system, customer approved to speak with install supervisor about updating system. Customer also advised me of older system that control basement and porch, I inspected system while on site and found that the porch area thermostat was set to cool and basement was set to heat, the porch thermostat could not be changed out of setting, when I turned off the basement, the porch thermostat would automatically keep bringing on the ac unit even if the temperature was raised, there was no air flow coming from vents due to this zone dampers not opening.
