For this job I performed a supertune up. heating and cooling components were within normal spec limits. I noted that the compressor saver kit on the unit was out of tolerance and the unit was amping over the LRA rating on data tag. I gave the homeowner the option between replacing the conponant, Upgrading to a soft start device, or considering replacement due to age and and refrigerant type of unit. Homeowner asked for ballpark price of a new unit, estimated between 12-28k and reccomended getting a CA scheduled for exact pricing and financing options.
