Upon arrival tech talked to homeowner tech found d that home owner reset breaker tech tried to get the system to trip tech checked the refrigerant charge everything looks good as of right now
Upon arrival technician talked to homeowner and asked questions about home. Technician grabbed tools and started on furnace. Technician took electrical readings and all in range aswell as checking filter which was good. Technician then checked plenums and gas line all in good shape. Technician then continued on condenser unit outside, washed the unit all good and waxed it after. Technician then took refrigerant readings all in range aswell as capacitor in range and contactor in good condition. Technician then took inrush and was good, homeowner had a compressor saver. Technician then wrote down recommendations and presented to customer.
American standard gas furnace with straight cool condenser. Condenser and coil installed in 2010. Furnace installed in 2014. All electrical connections are tight with no corrosion. PSC blower motor is acceptable. Refrigerant levels were low due to a leaky Schrader valve. Replaced valve and recharged the system with 32oz of r410a. Compressor was amping high upon start up. Installed a compressor saver to help the efficiency upon start up. Outdoor condenser was washed and waxed. Installed a drain switch on the primary drain to prevent water damage.
Quoted a level 2 60k heat pump closet upflow for $14,757
Super tune up performed today on a Coleman heat pump with air handler installed in 2017. All electrical connections are tight with no corrosion. Biological growth is present inside of the air handler. Blower wheel is dirty and should be cleaned. Ducts are dirty and should be cleaned. Highly suggest a level 2 duct cleaning which will clean the ducts and the inside of the air handler. Also suggest adding a germicidal UV light to prevent any biological growth from coming back. Compressor and condenser fan motors fan motor are acceptable. Refrigerant levels are in range. Outdoor unit was washed and waxed.
Arrived to find that the roof vent had blown off of the roof in a big wind storm. Suggested that it be replaced due to damage. Customer wanted to just secure it for now. Secured the vent with screws. No warranties on the work performed.
Install 36k gas closet upflow keep current filtration includes code kit
2015 gas closet. Expired manufacturers warranty. Many parts have been replaced. Blower wheel dirty. Evaporator coil dirty. Evaporator coil has detectable leaks. Evaporator coil has rust. Compressor is amping high even with a start capacitor. Refrigerant levels are slightly below manufacturers specifications. The boards were taken off the louvers of the door where the furnace sits, (I didn't realize until she mentioned it) since then the homeowner feels gusts of wind in the hall and when she looked up noticed she can see her attic and had concerns about airflow. The flue pipe is touching the supply plenum but due to the metallic material of the plenum, it passes code. Minimum insulation in attic. Uv bulb is not functional. The light socket to the gas furnace circuit is compromised (I showed her and she will have her electrical friend look at it). All things considered, due to the age, performance and saftey of the system, the homeowner agreed to a CA appointment 4/5/25 @3p to dis
