For this evaluation the customer stated the unit was only blowing hot air. I started at the condenser, and I could hear the compressor was trying to turn on but wasn't however the fan was running. I tested the capacitor and it was way out of tolerance, so I put a new one on and the condenser fired up. Due to a lower than target superheat with a piston metering device I believe the unit may be overcharged. I talked to the customer about replacement versus a major repair like replacing the metering device however the customer wants to wait.

This system is leaking water at the head. I tested it to see if it was clogged up and it was not. After going thru the system more I found the system if leak freon and the scharder valve. After talking the home wonder would like to have lg techs come and service it.

For this cooling tune up I inspected the furnace and condenser. For the most part everything was measuring with a manufacturer specs and running well. The drain lines did not have any vents as required for proper ventilation and to prevent sewage gases from entering the home. I formed the customer that the events were needed, as well as how slow the drain line was draining that there was a potential for a clog or clogged developing. I filled out the drain form as she did not want to get it fixed and that she would think about it. I recommended a IQ 200, because she has a UV system however it is old and the bulb is out. Additionally I recommend a compressor saver, surge protection, low voltage wiring insulation, and lastly a drain line repair. Customer said she would think about it and get back to us if she decided to move forward with the repairs.

Tech Cody arrived at customer's home and met Julie, she directed me inside to the thermostat and indoor unit. I started my inspection inside with swapping out the filter, the coil was clean, the blower was clean, the UV light wasn't in need of replacement, and the heat strips were pulling proper amperage. I then went outside and washed out the coil, when taking the electrical readings I found the unit was operating normally according to the data tag. After the coil had dried I took refrigerant readings and found the unit to be properly charged. The system is in great condition and prepared for summer.
