Comfort Experts are wonderful. They explain everything and they are polite. I have never worked with a plumbing, HVAC or electrical company that is as good as Comfort Experts.
For the evaluation the customer stated if you weeks ago he had a power surge and ever since then his unit would randomly turn off and turn on again. When I got there the thermostat was very slow to respond and not working very well. I know what's the condenser it is a DC inverted system, which are very prone to power surges and damage caused by them. I recommend to the customer a whole home surge protector to prevent any damage caused by power surges in the future. We reset the thermostat and it seemed to be working fine afterwards. I informed the customer if this is a continuing problem the thermostat will likely need to be replaced as I believe that is the root of the problem.
Wrote options for water heater replacement. Customer has to talk to husband to see what he wants to do but I scheduled a follow up for end of day so will follow up with her at end of day.
Arrived for STU All components were working and in tolerance Recommend IAQ 200, blower clean, surge protector, membership upgrade Compressor saver was out so I replaced warranty compressor saver with a new one
Talked to customer he was just wanting to verify he didn’t have a leak on water system which he doesn’t did a meter test when I was there no loss detected.
Customer had a sudden loss of water that got underneath flooring and caused wood floor to buckle. Was from the water line for bidet. Inspected water system to make sure no leaks after repair no leaks detected after repair was made.
On arrival system running and cooling producing a 13 degree delta. Indoor units drain lines flowed when flushed. The blower was dusty, the coil appeared clean. The supply plenum showed signs of biological growth. The outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but was overamping on start up. I recommended a compressor saver kit to address the overamping on start up and an iaq 200 to address the biological growth. Refridgerant levels were fine in spite of the poor temperature drop across the coils. Recommended investing in this systems longevity or replacing system ahead of January 1 refridgerant change to prevent being forced into early adoption of the new refridgerant andmits associated price increase.
The system float switch was tripped in the emergency drain pan. I cut both ends cleared the drain the ran 2 gallons of hot water down it. System is back online and ready for cooling.
5/10/24 Installed rail kit and filter turned on unit to ensure quality. Rec work complete.
Tech arrived at a tune-up. Upon inspection, the inverter board was functioning. The condenser coils were hosed off to assist with air flow across the coils. There was no observed surge protection. The blower area was dirty. The drain was clear and bleach was poured. The attic insulation was low. The water heater was aged rusted. The flame sensor was scorched. The customer was informed of recommendations today. He will speak with his wife about how they would like to proceed. They will call us back this week. The system was functioning upon departure. For water heater order information, refer to previous invoice summary.
Tech arrived at a membership tune-up. Upon inspection, the capacitor was out of tolerance. The contactor was in working condition. The drain system was clogged. There was no secondary drain on the primary pan. There was excessive growth in the supply plenum. The customer was informed of recommendations today. He decided to move forward with a drain clear and secondary extension. The drain was cleared and the pipe was added. The customer will perform other repairs himself. The system was functioning upon departure.
