For this job I spoke over the phone with customer about connecting to soft start. Homeowner is not at home at the moment so I offered to call later at his convenience. He declined and said he would call if he can’t figure out the instructions I gave.
For this job I did an evaluation. When I arrived indoor was blowing air and outdoor was not running. Contactor had 120 on both legs but not 240 together, diagnosed bad contactor. Replaced contactor and system was running without issue for over 20 minutes. Recommend start kit as compressor is over amping on startup. Homeowner had to leave early before we could further discuss. Came came to house for bugs not working in kitchen and customer had plugs open and ready and immediately found loose connections and talk to customer about it and everything and they wanted to fix it themselves because they were also wanting to replace that plug for a GFCI to GFCI protect the kitchen customer is just someone who likes to do a lot of things themselves explain to customer to call us back if there are any issues or if they have any questions or need anything
On this job I looked at both heat and cooling. The system works in heating. But it does not test intolernace in cooling. Heater has rust build up every where Evap coil is 20 years old and is rusted all over In cooling the superheat was 57 indicating the system is starved of refrigerant. The system will provide no cooling come summer time. After talk with Miss Nancy she is just not ready to replace it. Shes more likely to replace when the system produces no cooling 🪭
Eval- Gas Valve has failed, will need to replace
For this job I performed a super tune up on all units. No significant abnormalities were noted during inspection. I gave optic ns for u. Bulb replacements that were out of tolerance or iv upgrades and also soft start kits for lower amperage and use with generator. Homeowner had all UV bulbs replaced and was not interested in other UV system of soft starts at the moment. Cleaning comdensprs took longer than normal due to cotton wood trees in the area but all units were successfully cleaned. Left all units off at the time of departure. For this car I performed a super tune-up. I noted over amperage at startup of the unit, air leakage coming from improperly sealed ducts, and low insulation. Homeowner requested information about insulation. The estimates have how much inches of insulation would be added and we use pink fiberglass insulation. Owner requested estimates for soft start, insulation different levels, duct sealing, and an electrician to give an estimate. Electrician scheduled for Friday the 13th to give a estimate for installing 4-6 LED lights.
I've returned back to reseal both sides of the plenum. The system is now sealed and ready for work.
Today looked at both heating and cooling. The system test intolerance all the way around. Some concerns I have System needs at this point a whole system seal. It ripping apart at the return and supply. She will be having a level 2 duct cleaning to go along with her whole system reseal. All this will be done Feb 11 th at 10 am.
