I took advantage of $49 mail flyer for a summer tune up. When the tech came out I was told my unit was dirty and that my capacitor was failing and needed to be replaced. I was also told my coolant was running and low and need to be recharged but assured there was no leak. The price for the capacitor replacement was $500 and the coolant was $3000. I was a bit shocked and taken back by this price and certainly could not afford it at the time. I ended up calling another local company that my step-dad has used for 20 years and recommended by his contractor friend. They quoted me $29 to change the capacitor if I bought one on Amazon for $17. How can Comfort Experts charge $500 for a $17 part? Needless to say I ended up using the other guys. I also inquired on my visit about installing a minisplit in a shed I have and removing the old one. The quoted price for install was $3,750. This really blew me away because the install price on the existing unit was only $900 and than included the electric work that needed to be done last time when it was new. But now that I’m replacing one that has already been done. I understand slight variations in price but this was outrageous. The quote for my coolant refill for 410A was that I needed 114 ounces at $27/ounce. That is $432/lb!!! Absolute insanity. I was able to get it from another company for $80/lb. My tech, Daniel, was fine. I have no complaints about him and he seems like a kind and honest fellow. He was polite the entire time. So zero complaints about him. But was definitely not impressed with the pricing. I do not feel like I got $49 worth of service. I felt like I was charged $49 to overcharge me for items and try to push a $20/month membership.
Kellen mullinnix was extremely good and very knowledgeable of his work,, great asset to his company!!
Alex did a great job on trouble shooting our heating system and was very professional and pleasant to work with
experienced AC issues on a weekend, of course… – Zach showed up Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock quick efficient and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Reasonable price and good service. Recommended services and solutions that were informative but not pushy upsell
The serviceman was thorough, competent, and friendly.
Awesome service, but sad that capacitor I had just installed 15 months ago had to be replaced - manufacture error
Replace defective gfci which fixed other bath outlet and exterior outlet. Recommended replacing two more outlets in hone with manufactured home devices. Gave estimate.
I found that they do need gfci's and surge protection although they are not interested at this time but the panel although old looks good and the grounding was great
Performed plumbing inspection and found some recommendations. Sent estimates to homeowner she said she will get it done just not at this time dealing with health issues for her husband at the moment.

For this cooling tuneup I inspected the air handler and condenser. Inside the drain lines were slow to drain with water in the secondary drain line. At the condenser capacitor was intolerance, however I believe the system is overcharged as I had a 1⁰ superheat. Customer said that they've had issues with this unit since they installed it approximately 5 years ago. Amp draws were below maximums. Customer elected to have a pan strip put in the coil drain pan, and I am referring a plumber to come out to clear the clog and the primary drain line as it connects to the house plumbing, and not under a bathroom sink.
Adam B. completed annual plumbing tuneup.
Performed plumbing inspection and made some Recommendations. Customer said they do not own home just rent property but will forward my recommendations to homeowner.
Found no leaks, low superheat with low sat temp indicated airflow issue not refrigerant, found insulated covered the coil and caused it to freeze, removed insulation and system operating normally, customer not home to get signatures
On arrival I found drain switch tripped due to primary drain line clog. I removed the clog and tested with 2 gallons of water. When I left system running and cooling.
Arrived for service Eval Downstairs system leaking refrigerant at the Evap coil Bubble checked all field welds Ordering new coil EAH1P42B 1523G10272 Recommended UV systems due to biological growth
System filter was absolutely caked. The drain line was backed up at the p trap in bathroom. I cut the system PVC upstairs and undid the p trap assemble. Blew the line out cleaned the p trap at the sink and reassembled. The system is back online and ready for cooling.
Tested all components all measured within ratings and specs. Refrigerant level is way below normal superheat of 63 and subcool is negative on Txv. Filters were changed recently. Washed and cleaned condenser. After reading gauges moved to indoor unit to rule out any other possible causes determined the evaporator coil is leaking video in hvac form and is in urgent need of repair or replacement. I advised the customer that replacement would be their best option since they have no current warranties. Customer wants to sleep on it and research any possible warranties through install company. Emailed estimates for repair.
