Honest & Excellent

When Brock was out here in November, I expressed how my bedroom would be almost 5 or 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. When he came out today for the service call, he was thorough with all temperature readings, checked and double checked everything. We agreed to the possible, probably the best and easiest fix. He also advised that different vent covers may also make a difference and showed me online what he was explaining, and also made sure I knew the correct measurements of any new vent covers. Brock is very thorough, a wealth of knowledge, courteous and polite. He even remembered exactly what I told him in November what my issue was. Thank you Brock. And thank you Comfort Experts!

I originally hired Comfort Experts to replace my AC Unit when my old one went kaput (broke). I was extremely impressed with Comfort Experts with the techs and process that went along with that process. Sometime between then and now, they added Plumbing and Electrical to their business, which is also covered with my Membership Plan. Being a first time, female homeowner (even though I bought my house 8 years ago), I did a lot of research in finding an HVAC Company. When I learned that electricians and plumbers were added, I was so very excited and a bit relieved. The last thing I wanted to do was having a find plumber in an emergency situation. Not only did I have one of their plumbers come out about a month ago for a clogged up bathroom, it was same day service because of my membership plan, and the issue was completed the same day and the tech was very thorough and explained and answered all of my questions. Yesterday was my yearly plumbing tuneup (something that I had never heard of), but I was and am for tune up. Even though I bought my house brand new and I have been the only owner and occupant, he pointed out all of the major points, areas, and equipment that were most important to keep an eye on, and to check in case of an issue or or problem. When it came to questions about how long certain appliances last and how long they usually last before needing to be replaced. And was honest about pricing and different options I had that would be most convenient and less costly for me. Tyler was able to answer all of my questions completely and confidentiality and honestly. And as a first time homeowner, he taught me a lot about plumbing in general and I just learned a lot when he walked me through what he checks on during the tune up. I am grateful for Comfort Experts adding these additional services to their business because there were questions and certain things that I want to add or update in my home. And now I don't have to do any additional research to find a credible plumber and electrician. Thank You Comfort Experts!!

On this job I added 10z of freon to get her cooling. The system has a small leak at the evap coil. When I return I will pump it down and replace coil. I also installed easy start system today. System is back online and cooling.

Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the mother of the homeowner. The system was having long run times and the homeowners utilities bill was higher than normal. I checked outside and found the system to be properly charged, however the suction line outside had no insulation wrapped around, their dog had chewed it off. I explained how this affects the system to the customer and how it can cause high utility bills. I checked in the attic and the whole suction line was insulated, the filter was clean and static pressures were good. I shared my findings with the homeowner.

Customer stated that her energy bill is over $400 and mentioned that the system has an unusually long run time. On some days the system runs all day and won't shut off until around midnight. I asked if she was okay for one of our techs to come out and evaluate the system, she said she would like for us to book a call for someone to come out.

2.5 ton carrier, gas, attic horizontal 2018. Completed a thorough evaluation and inspection of the system. Indoor unit: Return plenum inspected. Filter replaced. Blower inspected. PCB inspected. Gas furnace components inspected. Evaporator coil inspected. Drain line inspected. Emergency pan inspected - proper install. Covered two large holes in the return and supply plenum that were pushing and pulling energy. Insulation levels inspected. DeltaT inspected. Outdoor unit: Homeowner pointed out the loud noise the condenser was making. Upon investigation I found loose condenser fan bolts atop, tighten thoroughly and the noise subsided drastically. Fan blades inspected. Fan motor inspected. Outdoor coil inspected - thoroughly cleaned coils using chemical cleaner from the inside out removing buildup that was restricting airflow. Compressor inspected. Primary electrical control contractor inspected. 40/5 dual run capacitor inspected - manufacturers data tag gave a 6%+- tolera

On arrival systems was running and cooling producing 20 degree deltas. Indoor units were mostly clean aside from biological growth in both supply plenums. Drain lines flowed when flushed. Outdoor units passed all electrical testing after installing compressor saver kits. When I left both systems running and cooling. Scheduling a follow up for October to discuss indoor air quality. On arrival system running but not cooling. Compressor was unable to turn on. Changed out out of tolerance capicator and still did not turn on. Compressor was not thermally overloaded. Recommended speaking with a comfort advisor about replacement due to age of system and cost of repairs. Customer declined at this time.

Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. I started my tune up inside with changing out the filter. The blower and coil were clean, the temperature split was 20 degrees, static pressure was .47wc, and the drain line was free of clogging. I then headed outside and washed the unit, after I put on a coat of wax. The auxiliary motor starter was within tolerance, the compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range. When I hooked up my guages I found thr system was properly charged. I shared my findings with the homeowner.
