For this job the customers downstairs system was tripping the breaker because the compressor was over amping on startup pulling 115 amps with a maximum amp draw of 95, Additionally the Run load amperage on the system was 17.7 with a Max RLA of 16.5. What this means that compressor is working extremely hard and essentially overheating while running causing the system to shut down. I spoke to the customer about his options and being that the system is 27 years old and R- 22 refrigerant the finding a new compressor would be hard and the wait time could be weeks if not months to get the new compressor in and able to be installed. Customer wanted to speak with a comfort advisor about system replacement and it is scheduled for today 11 July at 5:00 p.m.

Today I showed up for a Tri-County tune-up checked everything indoor and out found multiple concerns with code compliance as well as the unit being pretty low on refrigerant presenting my findings to the homeowner and her options she would like to consider full replacement versus repair so we have scheduled a comfort advisor to come out and provide an estimate for full replacement which should include a new drain pan and clearing of the drain line upon install she has also chosen to have a plumber come out and take a look at the water heater it is just over 10 years old and showing signs of corrosion and possible water leak the comfort advisor is scheduled for Tuesday August 26th first call the plumber is scheduled for Tuesday August 12th first call homeowner has signed up with our home and budget protection plan thank you for choosing comfort experts!

For this evaluation I showed up and the customer wanted to replace his thermostat because the other one was hard to change modes and the screen was going out. The customes are planning on putting their home on the market soon so he wanted me to go ahead and do a thorough inspection of the furnace and condenser which I did. Besides the drain line having gunk inside of it everything looked good. On the cooling side I had a 18⁰ SH with a target of 20⁰ so the refrigerant levels are good. The capacitor and start kit were both measuring with tolerance and all other electrical components looked good. The customer did say he would go ahead and take care of the drain line himself because he has some other plumbing stuff he needed to fix.

Upon arrival systems were satisfied at 74° Home owner provided filters to change out and vinegar to test drain lines Replaced both filters After dropping temperature on thermostats to keep them operating I went into attic and started inspecting both units I started with the upstairs unit checked delta and had 18° of cooling I then checked electrical components all were good Checked blower motor and motor capacitor, blower in good condition and capacitor in tolerance Checked Evap coil and it is clean and in good condition Tested drain line with vinegar and chased with 1 gallon of water as both units primary lines are connected Moved to downstairs unit and also had an 18° delta Electrical components were good and blower motor was good Motor capacitor was in tolerance Evap coil clean and in good condition Drain line was clear and no backups after vinegar and 1 gallon of water Moved to outdoor units and started by checking capacitors both unit's capacitors were in tolerance Relocated fans

During this visit I found the duct supplying the room in question pinched off. After fixing it the room got a large amount of airflow back. I also recommend adding insulation to that side of the house.

Went ahead and inspected system, noticed that system had a 4° superheat on a piston Found micro leak in evaporator coil But that didn’t explain why it froze up Went ahead and inspected filters, 1 was clean, 1 was clogged dirty, customer just recently had some remodeling done, the other filter was normal dirty. Lack of airflow was the cause of the coil freezing up Customer refused to pay service fee

On this cooling tune up I washed and clean condensor coil filter was clean. Superheat 20 ° Subcool 12° Primary drain has issue water is building up in emergency pan because of it. Em pan is rusted out and needs to be replaced Air conditioner cycles are normal All motors test intolerance along with capacitors. All electrical connections are tight Thermostat is clean but maybe need to be replaced. Thermostat doesn't display desired temp very well Adjustents to blower components are not needed. High speed for cooling medium high for heating Recommendations 1.The system could use a soft start device to tackle high in rush. 2. Replace emergency pan 3. Clear drain properly Please be thinking about system replacement. Air conditioners can usually be repaired but isn't always the best options take the time to consider what's best for you and your family. Thanks

Customer has a duct running to a room from a system way to far away. The room isn't priority but would like to see what a mini split would cost to help improve the air temp and take a load of the central cooling system. Set appointment for ca Wednesday first call.
