Not happy about having to get a new unit but Garrett made me feel better about why need one
For this evaluation the customer system was not cooling, he indoor and outdoor were both running however it was only blowing out hot air. When I showed up these system was off and they just had the blower set to on so I turn the system on gauged up to measure refrigerant where I had a 36° superheat and a target of 30° indicating the system is low on refrigerant. A courtesy leak check to the evaporator coil on the pancake unit and was picking up refrigerant particles in the air however due to evaporative coil being pushed up into the ceiling I was unable to pinpoint exactly where the leak was coming from. Let's go to the customers about what I found and their options and they elected to go ahead and speak with a project manager about system replacement and pricing for a new heat pump or a mini split.
On arrival system running and cooling but raining heavily at time of arrival. Indoor unit dusty and blower capicator out of tolerance. Outdoor unit pulling 127 amps on start up when manufacturers red line is 104. Contactor was buzzing and very pitted. Recommended speaking with a comfprt advisor about replacement or going ahead and addressing the more important items before summer further stressed system out. Will follow up Monday to discuss further.
Performed plumbing tuneup everything working properly at this time
Performed super tune up Washed condensor and tightened connections Delta 20 All cooling and heating components are in tolerance Replaced filter Reccomended duct cleaning Reccomended IAQ200 Full UV Reccomended blower clean - biogrowth System left on cool at exit
On this job I discovered the system has a bad blower motor. I'm ordering a new one. We've already discussed system replacement and they are sure they don't want to at this point.
On arrival downstairs system drain line mostly clogged. Both systems had large quantities of biological growth on the evaporator coil and supply plenum. Recommended iaq 200 for both systems to address this. Found both systems at a 30 degree superheat when the target is 5. Recommended speaking with a comfort advisor about replacement before pursuing repairs due to age and condition of systems.
Returned and installed trimed uv bulb. System operating on departure.
Filter was clean slower had a little dust on it inducer motor within range. All safeties are working condenser outside was a little dirty. I cleaned it. Capacitor was in the range. System is over amping recommended a soft start
On arrival system running and heating as intended. Indoor unit clean and passed all testing. Uv bulb needed to be changed. Recommended uv bulb and drain treatment strip. Washed outdoor unit, it passed all electrical testing, too cold for refridgerant testing. Pausing call, please order tri med uv bulb.
The panel looks good I tightened up some connections but everything was in order the plugs were working and gfcis are present
Autumn talked to customer Customer figured it out
Arrived to set schedule for customer
11/23/24 TS- had me look over work done by milestone. Only questionable work is the drain under the sink. In order to be plumbed right you would have to cut into the drawer floor
Came to customers house to quote fixing disposal not having power and fixed the issue
