Heat tune up on 2012 Goodman heat pump checked all components and operation some biological growth present in air handler no compressor saver or surge protection.
2014 3t gas closet upflow. Expired manufacturers warranty. Homeowner (90yo) greeted me with a claim "I think it's at the end of its life". I completed a thorough evaluation of the system and found that there is a history of refrigerant recharge and capacitor replacement. The filter needs replacement. Drain line is clear but has rust sediment. The evaporator coil has an oil spot and leaks detected. UV bulb not functional. Blower motor has oil present. Wheel is dirty. Burners have corrosion on it. Inducer fan motor has slightly higher amps than rated. The compressor inrush amps exceed manufacturers specifications. Compressor saver is compromised. Surge protector is out on the condenser unit. The homeowner agreed to Saturday 1/18/25 @10am for a CA appointment. I spoke to her son and he will be there to help the process. System is functional but diminishing in performance.
Front bed room has low air flow trunk line duct splits to three rooms one bathroom and two bedrooms. Would take the furthest room from the unit and run dedicated duct price is good for 30 days.

Installers gave the customer a 1 and 1 thermostat with no option for back up heat. Today I replaced it with a 2 and 1. And I've also bumped up the fan speed.
