Customer stated breaker tripping everyday and having to be reset. Tested unit checked volts, amps, temp splits and breaker. The breaker fell out of panel easily and was a 25 amp breaker removed and replaced with a 30 amp breaker because nameplate says min circuit amp is 30 and unit had 10 g wire going to it. Unit running and cooling the home upon departure.
No cooling tested found bad low voltage fuse on furnace board. Found it was due to UV ballast shorted out, replaced ballast under warranty added designated circuit with transformer to UV ballast. Tested found bulb blown out replaced. Checked superheat, subcool, temperature splits, system working ok at this time.
2017 5t electric attic horizontal. Manufacturers warranty expired - never registered. Incorrect filter - homeowner needs a 20x25x5, currently there are two filters in the filter box. This restricts proper filtration and airflow. Evaporator coil - extreme biological growth and microchannel buildup. This is further restricting proper airflow across the coil. Heavy oil stains present on coil, courtesy leak detection discovered refrigerant molecules present. Evaporator coil is leaking r410a hazardous materials into the breathable air. Blower - wheel has buildup which reduces airflow and the capacitor is below manufacturers specifications. No saftey float switch on the condesate line - history of water damage on ceiling. Compressor inrush amperage exceeds manufacturers specifications and tolerance indicating a damaged Compressor due to materials leaking out of the evaporator coil. 70/5 dual run capacitor is below the manufacturers specifications. Refrigerant charge is below manufactur
Shared with homeowner a detailed report on system performance. Filter hadn't been replaced in almost a year, it was very restrictive and prevents optimal airflow. There was a "less" dirty 1inch filter atop the indoor unit that I utilized. Homeowner has been made aware. Old water was found in the back of the emergency pan, I used my wet vac to remove. Indoor air quality is compromised - biological growth present on blower motor and building up rapidly inside the supply plenum. 4-6 times per hour all of the breathable air passes through the indoor unit and not having healthy air aids in ailments to the overall health of the persons in the home and the systems functionality. Dust and particles are not the only indoor culprits. There are other types of airborne contaminate such as germs, gases, and odors that can negativimpact health and HVAC equipment performance. Dual wavelength, high-output UVV/UVV lights control these contaminate. It stands to reason that the ductwork is comprom
Upon arrival Customer stated the breaker for the AC was tripped. During evaluation found that the compressor was shorted to ground. Contacted Lennox about the warranty and compressor. Lennox stated the compressor was on back order till possibly June. Talked with customer about replacement of the system and fresh start Setup Comfort Advisor appointment for 5/2/25 office confirmed
This is not a chargeable job this is a courtesy install of sediment guard to ensure system runs at max performance to reduce hardware of water entering 8n home ...per MW
Install Amana 2 stage variable speed systems. (2) 36k hz heat pumps and (1) 36k upflow heat pumps with high efficiency filtrations, code kits, 6.5x5 wifi tstats, 3 duct cleanings, 500 sq ft R19 insulation
Upon arrival Customer stated system had water underneath and wet switch was tripped. During evaluation found trap was slightly clogged. Pushed air down drain to release clog and poured a gallon down with no issues. Poured about a cup of vinegar down drain to help break up and potential clogs and Recommended Anti microbial pan treatment
Two system tune up performed today. Upstairs unit is a Goodman heat pump with air handler installed in 2019. All electrical connections are tight with no corrosion. Blower wheel and evaporator coil are clean. Compressor and condenser fan motor are acceptable. Compressor saver had failed and was replaced under warranty. Refrigerant levels are in range. Outdoor unit was washed and waxed. Downstairs system is showing high superheat and high subcooling. This is an indication of a restriction in the high pressure line. Tested the evaporator coil and determined that the restriction is in the metering device. Metering device must be changed along with the filter drier. Estimate has been sent to the customer via email. Low Delta T across the coil is making unit very inefficient. Compressor and condenser fan motor are acceptable. Outdoor unit was washed and waxed.
Generator maintenance performed today on a 24kw Generac generator. Oil filter, air filter, and spark plugs were changed. Oil was changed with 1.5 quarts of fully synthetic 5w-30 oil. Timing on valves was determined to be correct.
.Upon arrival Customer stated system was not working properly. During evaluation found the system to be low on Refrigerant, leaked searched evap coil, Condenser coil, linset outside and inside and found no leaks. Leak searched original portion of linset under house and found heavy oil spots along with Refrigerant leak. Talked with customer about replacement of that portion of the lineset and customer agreed. I Will be coming back Friday to replace that section of linset. Will collect Refrigerant after repair
Performed Complementary Tune up. Customer expressed concerns about Airhandler leaking in attic onto garage ceiling. Found that Airhandler was not level and leaking water from the backside of the Condensate pan. Emergency pan was flat on the ground and had 0 fall towards secondary drain. Heavy amounts of biological growth inside airhandler and supply. Heatpump tested everything within spec except for Auxiliary motor starter. Recommended leveling unit and Emergency pan, Uv system for biological growth and replacing 30/7.5 Auxiliary motor starter. Customer agreed to all work and HBPPLAN
Downstairs unit was out on high amps added a compressor saver to unit and dropped amps from 127 to 54 everything else looks good at this time
Quoted customer 7950 for dehumidifier install.
