For this job I cleared the drain line since it was clogged and dumping water into the floor. Verifyed it was clear by pouring water down the line and in the pan. While the system is running in cooling the coil is freezing up and causing water to also drip onto the floor. Ultimatelythe system will need to be replaced due to the age and condition
Today we returned for rec work of installing an updated UV system and easy start Flex for the condensing unit both installs went as planned everything is functioning as it should customer is happy thank you for choosing comfort experts! Today I showed up for an evaluation on a 6-year-old gas furnace unit the outdoor unit was not running when I arrived this was due to the thermostat failing turns out what took out the thermostat was a short in the contactor on the outdoor unit replaced the thermostat and the contactor today made recommendations for an easy start for the condensing unit as well as upgrading the indoor air quality system customer opted to take all recommendations today however I will have to return to install the iaq200 and the easy start I am pausing this call both for parts as well as for financing customer opted for the zero money down and zero payments for 12 months same as cash all the paperwork has been filled out through good leap and I just need the office to finalize thank you for choosing Comfort Experts!
For this super tune-up I inspected the customer's air handler and condenser. The evaporator coil is pretty rusted and when tested in cooling mode the coil was freezing up. I leak searched the coil and found a leak on the loops. At the condenser the contactor was pretty burnt and pitted up. The capacitor was within tolerance. The superheat was highter than the target indicating the system is undercharged because of the leak. I recommend to the customer replacing the system with a heat pump instead of the straight electric that pulls alot of energy and contributing to highter energy bills.
On arrival system running and heating. Switched to cooling and system produced an 18 degree delta. Indoor units blower was dirty due to dust bypassing filter and uv system currently non functional with biological growth in supply plenum. Outdoor unit was overamping on start up but otherwise in good shape. Recommended upgrading uv system to a stronger system with a longer lasting bulbs and upgrading filters to April aire system to prevent dust bypass. Also recommended a compressor saver kit to prevent overamping.
