Heat relay stuck on upon arrival. Fixed this before I started cooling tune up. Also the blower control board had a blow out allowing the blower to stay on. They system is r22 it has a 6° subcool and still functions. Hes told me that is isn't at a point yet where he can sit down and talk about system replacement he does understand he's riding on the cusp with this system.

Today I showed up for a complimentary evaluation awarded at a recent gun show the unit with the issue is a three head mini split heat pump unit that conditions the air for the out building which his son lives in as a courtesy throughout my Diagnostics I vacuumed the filters for the Mini Splits as well as surrounding areas so I could properly evaluate the Delta for each head and they were more or less all three reading the same about a four to five degrees temperature split I turned off the units and performed a leak detection everywhere I had access to I found nothing at the outdoor unit nothing at either one of the bedroom heads however the living room head has a refrigerant leak from within the head itself at this point it would appear to be an internal component that I am unable to access without uninstalling the unit as opposed to a connection that would be exterior of the unit within a few feet so I have provided options to the homeowner for leak detection and repair discussed opt

For this heating tune-up I inspected the customer's air handler and condenser. I found a number of problems that need to be fixed inorder to keep the system functioning well. The blower capacitor was out of tolerance, and there is significant amounts of biological growth inside the system. The condenser fan motor is overamping which is indicative of failure in the future. Additionally the compressor was also pulling high running amps and sounded rough. We have added R-22 a few times now the customer stated, because there is a slow leak inside the system. The system is from 2008, and with the number of problems I found I think it would be in the customer's best interest to replace. I tested the system in cooling as well and was only getting 14⁰ of cooling, and 20⁰ is where it should be. My overall recommendation is complete system replacement and not repairing the system. This way the customer doesn't have to worry about anything failing for awhile.
