Tech arrived at a service call. It was very cold outside. The customer mentioned a noise when the outside system was functioning. Upon inspection, the fan motor was fatigued and squealing during operation. The contactor was scorched and audibly buzzing. The pipe temp refrigerant test indicated that the system was low on refrigerant. The filter was clean the blower area and coil was very dirty. There was growth present. The evaporator coil was rusted. There was no observed water safety. The customer was informed of recommendations today. Due to age, condition, price of repairs and presence of R22; it is recommended that the customer speak with a Comfort Advisor about upgrading to something more reliable with warranties behind it. The outside system was left in the off position. The heat strips were heating upon departure.

Upon arrival for service system on and not cooling. Inspected system and found capacitor out of tolerance. Replaced capacitor. System came on and cooled properly. Recommended compressor saver kit to help reduce wear on compressor and capacitor. Left system on and cooling.

9 month old trane. System operation is normal, drains clear, changed filter. Ducts are extremely dirty, will decrease lifespan of brand new system if not cleaned or replaced.

Tech arrived for a Parts and Labor Warranty HTU. Upon inspection, the capacitor was within specs. The contactor was in working condition. The condenser coils were dirty and were hosed off. The system did not appear to have Surge Protection. The filter was dirty and replaced. The drain system was clear and bleach was poured. There was no pan treatment strip. There was no inline drain safety switch however there was a wet switch. The UV system was functioning. The UV bulb has been in the system since installation. The older the bulbs are, the less effective they can be. The customer decided to replace the UV bulb today. Customer was informed of recommendations today and she would like to wait on the Surge Protector until her next visit. The customer is aware that we provide Solar and does not wish to recieve additional information at this time. The system was functioning upon departure.

Customer had his thermostat break during the storm so I could not perform a proper tune up. A Honeywell thermostat was offered but they wanted to go with another nest thermostat. Customer is going to go purchase one from the hardware store and then reschedule the tune-up and a thermostat install in the near future. Job is being paused until then.
