For this cooling tune-up I inspected the customer's furnace and condenser. When I first showed up the customers telling me about some problems they were having with the system not cooling but then would start cooling and it was a persistent issue, and they had the capacitor replaced and wanted me to check it out to make sure it was the right one. Everything at the furnace and evaporator coil looked good same with the ductwork and insulation. I went to the condenser I looked at the capacitor and the jumper wire going from the contactor to the capacitor was connected to the fan terminal on the capacitor instead of the center terminal. Pressure was pulling 15 out of 20 amps however once I put the wiring how it was supposed to be it dropped the running amps on the compressor down to 11.25 amps. Refrigerant levels look good as well.
