Tech arrived at a service call. Upon inspection the main breaker was tripping. The compressor was disconnected and the fan ran. The compressor was tested and failed the Ohms test and resistance test. The capacitors were out of tolerance. The wire insulation was damaged on the fan motor and was touching bare metal. The contactor was scorched. The indoor system was not accessible today. The customer was informed of recommendations today. Due to age, condition, price of repairs and presence of R22; it is recommended that the customer speak with a Project Manager about upgrading to something more reliable with warranties behind it.
